Dr. Barakat

MARK R. BARAKAT, MD, FASRS

Dr. Mark Barakat of Retina Macula Institute of Arizona has a strong, ongoing commitment and vision to develop an exclusive research program.

Clinical trial research is the necessary step to transcribe laboratory discoveries into treatments that improve the lives, health, and vision of patients. The trials help to determine better approaches for disease prevention, screening, diagnosis, and treatment. Clinical trials are always optional. Some people choose to join a clinical trial so they can play a more active role in their own health care, while others are seeking treatment options that are not yet widely available.

Dr. Barakat has participated in clinical trials since 2014. His research interests include but is not limited to age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and vascular occlusive diseases. A clinical trial may last 6 months to 2 years.

Feel free to ask your physician if there are any ongoing clinical trials for your condition or contact us at 602-613-5473
